The ceremony was held in Madrid, and attendees included the Madrid Regional Government Minister for the Presidency and Justice and Government Spokesperson, Salvador Victoria, and Chairman of the Madrid Confederation of Business (CEIM) and of Madrid's Chamber of Commerce, Arturo Fernández.

Each year the Ejecutivos Magazine Awards recognise the efforts of leading executives, companies and institutions. Esther Koplowitz received the award for her extraordinary philanthropic work through the foundation that bears her name, which focuses primarily on social initiatives to help the most disadvantaged groups and also promotes science, biomedical research and the fight against disease.
