The scope of application of this new Plan comprises all FCC, S.A., including subsidiaries and affiliates of the Environmental Services business area in Spain.
The plan consists of a set of measures aimed at achieving equal treatment and opportunities between women and men and eliminating any hint of discrimination based on sex. For this purpose, a series of action areas are focused on: access to employment, promotion, training, remuneration, conciliation and joint responsibility, prevention of harassment based on sex and employment, protection of female victims of gender violence and communication. In all these areas, positive measures and actions have been agreed in order to achieve the proposed objectives. In addition, a follow-up plan has been designed with periodic reviews through a specific commission to assess the scope of the measures and schedule the strategy for the following year.
This new plan gives continuity to the plan signed in 2008 and will be in force until December 31, 2021 or until it is replaced by another Equality Plan if this occurs before that date. Before the conception of the plan, a situation diagnosis has been performed to ascertain the reality of the workforce, detect needs and define objectives for improvement.
The signing of this Plan is a further commitment to effective equality in the area of environmental services, which has for years been a code of ethical principles and values, developed through programmes, internal procedures and positive measures aimed at creating a work environment that promotes respect between people, equal opportunities for women and men and the integration of diversity. These concepts reflect a growing undertaking of commitments to social sustainability and social commitment and responsibility.
This agreement is part of the initiatives that both trade union organizations are developing in order to promote measures aimed at defending and promoting equal treatment and opportunities between women and men and the elimination of situations of discrimination based on sex.
With the signing of this II Equality Plan, FCC’s commitment to effective equality is reinforced, and demonstrated amongst other actions by its gender balance commitments in the promotion of managerial staff, the voluntary assumption of the ministerial initiative for the blind CV, continuous participation in training programmes and promotion of women managers, the commitment to hire women victims of gender violence, or the promotion of other programmes and specific actions for which it has been awarded the Equality Seal of Distinction in the Company.
