Cyfarthfa Park Primary School winners of the Cyfarthfa Award The A465 project team raises funds for a new local charity in Wales, in the UK FCC Construccion’s work to build the new A465 Heads of the Valleys dual carriageway in sections 5 and 6 in Wales also includes a compre- hensive programme of engagement with local schools. To help raise as much money as possi- ble, team members volunteered to take part in the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge, where they covered a total walking dis- tance of 27.4 kilometres and a climb of 2334 metres to reach the summit of Wales’ three most iconic mountains, Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen y Fan, in less than 24 hours. Martin Gallimore, Community Bene- fits Manager, along with a panel of judges, was responsible for choosing Pupils from Cyfarthfa Park Primary School collecting the award. They started the challenge on Friday 18 August 2023 and in 19 hours success- fully completed the challenge. As a re- sult, over £18,000 (€21,000) has been raised for the charity.
