The report for the television pro- grammes “Tierra y Mar” and “Es- pacio Protegido” on the Andalusian regional channel Canal Sur TV, di- rected by José María Montero and presented by Ángela Blanco, has won out of the 60 journalistic wor - ks presented in this edition of the 7th Aqualia Journalism Award. The work, which was broadcast on the occasion of the celebration of the National Congress on urban water supply, sanitation and treatment in Cordoba in September 2022, aims to draw attention to the role of water management companies in their work to bring water to homes and return it to the environment in optimal conditions, a process that is made more difficult by climate change. “In this new scenario, wa- ter must be more highly valued. Our well-being and the balance of natu - re depend on it,” say the creators of the report. A Canal Sur TV report on water management in the face of climate change, winner of the 7th Aqualia Journalism Award In awarding the first prize, the jury valued “the informative approach and the quality of the report, which helps to raise awareness of the cha- llenges of water through a channel with a large local audience and a non-specialised public”. The first and second runners-up prizes went to the articles published by Roberto López in La Razón on the price of water and losses due to leaks, and to the article by Ro - berto Zamarbide for La Gaceta de Salamanca on sanitation and purifi - cation in the capital of Salamanca. Two special mentions were awar- ded to Pilar Fernández and Cristina Aguinaga for their work in Diario de Navarra and to Erika Fontalvo for Family photo of the winning journalists at the 7th edition of the Aqualia Journalism Awards.
