The Cementos Portland Valderrivas Group establishes the ISO 50001 standard in its workplaces At the Cementos Portland Valde - rrivas Group we firmly believe that present and future business success depends to a large extent on the de- velopment of a sustainable business, where environmental and energy as- pects are a priority, focusing on con- tinuous improvements in the produc- tion of cement, aggregate, concrete and mortar. For this reason, and as the main ob - jective of the Group’s Environmental and Energy Strategy, we have com- pleted the establishment of a new, more ambitious standard in 90% of our work centres, specifically ISO 50001, which is the most widely used business energy management stan - dard in the world. With this certification, we are imple - menting an energy policy that seeks real and quantifiable energy cost sa - vings in production, controlling the steps and acting on those that repre- sent an “energy and economic leaka- ge”.
