Camino Martínez de la Riva , a life by the water, full of success, commitment and perseverance Camino Martínez de la Riva is an example of effort and self-improve - ment. Her passion for sports, spe - cifically swimming, has led her to become one of the best swimmers in adapted swimming, not only in Spain or Europe, but in the world. She is a member of the Spanish swimming team of the Spanish Fe - deration of Sports for People with Intellectual Disabilities and thanks to her hard work and willpower she has managed to reach the top. Since she was 4 years old, water has been her faithful ally and toge - ther with her she has come a long way since she started competing in 2014: from Paris to Florence, to cross the Atlantic and reach Mexi - co, and even crossed the entire pla - net to compete in Australia, where she won a total of nine medals in the Olympic pool in Brisbane during the INAS Global Games. There she managed to consoli - date her position as the fastest swimmer with Down’s Syndrome in Europe in the 100m freestyle, among other awards and titles she has accumulated since she was 16 years old.
