Winner of the international IJGlobal Awards 2020 Sustainable infrastructures With more than 8,500 kilometers of road, highway and freeway works in the four continents in which it opera- tes, through contracting and finan - cing, the participation of the FCC Group’s Construction area in any international infrastructure project means contributing the experience of a company with 120 years in the sec- tor, with a great technical capacity, and a firm commitment to overcome construction challenges efficiently. The activities developed have inclu- ded the planning, design, construc- tion of roadways, junctions, auxi- liary roads, tunnels, bridges or other types of structures that were part of the projects; including in some ca- ses the rehabilitation and mainte- nance of the infrastructure. This project is an example of what is known as sustainable infrastruc- ture, with equipment and systems designed to provide essential ser- vices to citizens and that comply MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROJECT VIDEO ON THE CURRENT STATUS OF THE PROJECT with the principles of sustainability in every sense. Without going any fur- ther, of the 17 Sustainable Develop- ment Goals that the United Nations has defined for Sustainable Deve - lopment, SDG9 speaks of “Industry, innovation and infrastructure”. The- refore, this type of infrastructure is a key element in addressing the sustai- nable growth of societies, and at the same time contributes to improving people’s quality of life and well-being. Inclusive growth In order to generate an efficient impact that complies with the com- pany’s commitment to sustainability, the development of the project, as a characteristic feature of today’s large infrastructures, aims to be res- pectful of the environment of which it forms part, in order to achieve in- clusive growth. Sustainability is also a priority in large engineering and construction projects that aim to res- pect the environment and improve the quality of life of citizens. Through sustainable infrastructures, environmental protection is achie- ved, as well as the promotion of community development and cons- tant innovation. The development of these constructions has a positive impact on the environment and who- se projection brings social benefits. All of them bear the FCC seal. A465 The A465 project has won the in- ternational IJGlobal Awards 2020 in the “European Transport Deal of the Year” and “European Social Infras- tructure Education PPP deal of year” categories. This project represents a significant investment that will make it possible to generate a range of be- nefits for local companies involved in the development of the project.
